Precision Metal O-Ring Backup Ring

These ring-shaped metal components serve as axial positioning and anti-extrusion elements in hydraulic or pneumatic systems. Used in conjunction with rubber O-rings, they withstand high-pressure conditions. Typically featuring a rectangular or trapezoidal cross-section, they provide rigid support to prevent soft seals from extruding into gaps under pressure. They are widely used in sealing grooves for construction machinery, automotive transmission systems, and fluid control valves.

The manufacturing process strictly controls tolerances for inner and outer diameters as well as cross-sectional thickness uniformity to ensure a tight fit with standard groove dimensions. To address risks of flatness deviation and oval deformation common in thin-walled ring structures, the factory utilizes high-precision slow-feed wire EDM (such as Sodick or Western brands) for contour shaping, combined with optical grinding processes to guarantee end-face flatness and perpendicularity. This effectively resolves consistency challenges in mass production.

Leveraging IATF16949 and ISO9001 certified systems, our production line offers integrated delivery capabilities from material selection to precision forming. We support processing of various metal materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and copper alloys, and offer surface treatments such as electroless nickel plating to enhance corrosion and wear resistance. Key dimensions are fully inspected using Mitutoyo vision measuring instruments to meet stringent assembly requirements.
