By combining a bottom metal base with an upper insulated cover, this assembly forms a stable cavity to secure stationary and moving contacts while maintaining safe phase-to-phase electrical distances. It is commonly found in the core arc-extinguishing chamber areas of molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) or residual current devices (RCDs).
